Cycle safety first for kids

CYCLE safety was the theme of visits to two village schools by Police Community Support Officers Hayley Carter and Chris Dillion of the Doncaster North Safer Neighbourhood Team.

They gave talks to children at Carcroft Primary and Owston Park Primary and showed them an unsafe bike and discussed why the condition of this bike was not acceptable.

The officers also gave advice on how to do important safety checks on their bikes every time they go out and stressed the importance of cycle helmets.

Safer Neighbourhood Team members will also be involved in summer activities at the Bullcroft Centre in Carcroft each weekday during the school holidays and cost 1 per child. Call the Bullcroft Memorial Hall on 01302 726633.
