Despite floods 'show must go on' say organisers

THE flower show must go on!

Organisers of the Bloomin’ Bentley vegetable and flower show have appealed for entrants to save this year’s event.

Gardens and allotments in the village were seriously damaged in the floods and many regular exhibitors are unable to show this year so the organisers have put out a plea for Doncaster’s gardeners to come along and take part.

Bloomin’ Bentley’s Jill Kirkbride said: “We had a meeting with people who have allotments here and they’re devastated from the floods.

“All of their produce is gone. So we’re just appealing for support and help from gardeners or anyone that can give donations or contribute to the show. All of the donations are going to Bluebell Wood and it’s not just a vegetable and flower show, there’s lots of things to do. We just want support because people here have been so badly hit by the floods - it’s devastating.”

The show will be held at Bentley Pavillion, Askern Road on Saturday August 25 from 1pm to 6pm.

All money raised will be donated to the Bluebell Wood charity.
