Both the authority and South Yorkshire Fire Service have called on people not to have garden fires – and people can report neighbours flouting the plea.
A council spokesman said: “We've been getting a lot of reports of garden bonfires over the last few weeks.

“We've received reports of residents who have found it hard to physically leave their homes to exercise, due to the smoke coming from local garden fires where people have been burning garden and household waste.
“They're also dangerous if they get out of hand!
Please be considerate of your neighbours and the safety of others - our Enforcement Team will investigate if we feel bonfires are becoming a nuisance to others
Instead of having a fire, residents are being urged to compost kitchen and garden waste, shred waste or store it temporarily - once coronavirus restrictions are lifted the Household Waste Recycling Centres will reopen throughout the borough where Doncaster residents can go, free of charge, and recycle their household waste
Anyone wanting to report neighbours or people having bonfires in their garden can contact the Public Health Team on 01302 737573.
In the worst-case scenarios, your neighbours can be fined up to £5000
