The altercation followed an incident on the M1 when the Sheffield man’s blue Vauxhall Astra was allegedly “cut up” by a Vauxhall Corsa.

Police say the 41-year-old Astra driver blew his horn at the other motorist before both vehicles left at junction 33 and stopped near the roundabout.

There was a verbal altercation while both drivers remained in their cars, before the driver of the Corsa allegedly got out and punched the other man in the face.

Traffic police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at around 2.40pm on Monday August 6.
