Driver robbed of his lorry cargo

toiletries worth nearly £3,000 were stolen from a lorry as the driver slept in his cab in South Yorkshire.

The driver woke up at Woodall Services on the M1 near Rotherham to find a curtain slashed, the back doors open and some products stolen.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at around 400.

The stolen products were 720 cans of Axe Unlimited and Axe Click deodorant and more than 2,000 150ml bottles of a Dove product which police say was marked with the words "AP TALCO".

Police spokesman Adam Oxley said: "At 9pm on Friday, the driver of the HGV arrived at the southbound service station of the M1 motorway at Woodall.

"He slept in the vehicle overnight but woke at 6am on Saturday to find the theft had taken place and damage caused."

Rotherham police are appealing for information after the theft, between 9pm last Friday and when he woke up the next morning at 6am.
