Eco-friendly homes delight

A NEW era has dawned in Edinburgh Mews in Chesterfield with the opening of 13 eco-friendly homes.

The site used to have 14 units for young homeless people, but was closed in 2002 following a number of problems with anti-social behaviour.

Chesterfield Council said it wanted the units demolished and Northern Counties Housing Association has worked with the local authority to redevelop the site to provide high quality eco friendly homes for rent.

The Mews now boasts two, three and four-bedroom family homes plus two bungalows, one of which has been adapted for people with disabilities.
