The Millers consolidated their position in the play-off places with victory over Scunthorpe United, with Moore claiming his 10th goal of the campaign in the second half to seal a sixth three-point haul in seven AESSEAL New York Stadium outings.

The loan hot-shot tapped in after great work down the left by David Ball in the 71st minute.

It was a simple finish, far removed from the stunning long-range effort by Will Vaulks which put Paul Warne's side in front after 36 minutes.

The midfielder let fly from 25 yards, giving Scunthorpe goalkeeper Matt Gilks no chance.

Both sides had chances in an entertaining, hard-fought encounter. Rotherham, without key midfield man Darren Potter who was out with a heel injury, were tested but had the edge.

Before Vaulks' sensational strike, Richie Towell and Anthony Forde had seen shots saved while Richard Wood, Joe Mattock and Michael Ihiekwe were all denied by blocks in quick succession.

Richard O'Donnell twice saved from Paddy Madden before Rotherham's breakthrough. With half-time approaching, the home keeper foiled Josh Morris and was then pleased to see Andrew Crofts head over from close in.

After the break, the visitors pushed and Funso Ojo hit the woodwork. But Moore was in the right place to make the most of Ball's skilful run and cross and the home side, always looking dangerous on the attack, held out comfortably towards the end.

Momentum is building for the Millers who have now won their last three league games without conceding a goal and are fourth in the table.
