Fans deserve much better

While I am sure we wish Chris Wilder all the best in his task of getting Sheffield United out of the third tier of English football at long last, we have to wonder what he can do that eight previous managers could not.

The last time we tasted glory was when Neil Warnock got us promoted to The Premiership, only to be relegated the following season through the Tevez affair.

Although we were finding it tough in the top flight, this was an unkind turn of fate.

The articles in The Star last Friday were very interesting, but it does still leave a question mark over the largest club in the division languishing in League One for so long under so many managers, and why Nigel Clough could not produce the results for a big club like us, but has immediately secured promotion for a small club like Burton Albion.

Hopefully, these questions will become academic under the new manager, as the fans deserve better, much better.
