Former Sheffield United academy chief interested in vacancy at Chesterfield
Former Sheffield United academy boss John Pemberton is among those interested in a vacancy at the Proact.
Chesterfield are due to begin interviews for the role of academy manager next week.
Pemberton has coached at Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and most recently Bristol City. The 53-year-old is believed to have thrown his hat in the ring to replace the now departed Mark Smith.
Another name linked with the job is Garreth Barker, who until May was the academy manager at Rotherham United and has experience at Blackpool, Bolton, Wigan and Preston.Â
The Sheffield Star understands there are also internal candidates hopeful of vying for the position, which was held by Smith for the past three years.
