Inspiring leader gets top honour

Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust team is celebrating after a senior manager won a prestigious award.

Service director, specialist directorate, Michele Fearon, won Inspirational Leader of the Year at the annual Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Leadership Recognition Awards.

Michelle was recognised for her exceptional leadership across a large and diverse range of complex clinical services and her sustained commitment to engagement with service users, carers and staff.

She said: “I’m very pleased and a little bit shocked to have won.

“My focus is on making sure we are providing the best quality care for service users and it is rather overwhelming to receive this regional recognition.”

This latest recognition follows the Trust being named as one of top 120 places to work in healthcare and its serious mental illness and physical health project winning a national Positive Practice in Mental Health Award earlier this year.

The event was hosted by former Olympian and world champion hurdler Colin Jackson CBE at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds and chief executive, Kevan Taylor, who said: “I’m delighted for Michelle.”
