It's your right and obligation to register to vote

Every household in the town will receive a form next month showing who is registered there to vote and asking residents to correct it if it is wrong.

Rotherham Borough Council has to do this every year ready for the new edition of the register of electors which is published on December 1. Anyone who refuses to give the information asked for or who gives false information can face a maximum fine of 1,000.

Households where the details remain unchanged can re-register via a free 24-hour telephone or secure internet service.
