Lone walker terrorised by knife yobs

THUGS threatened a terrified 18-year-old and held a knife to his throat as he walked home alone along a South Yorkshire road.

The teenage victim was walking along Pontefract Road in Cudworth, Barnsley, when he was attacked.

As he approached the junction with Queen’s Drive he was grabbed by a man who threatened him and pinned him against bushes.

At the same time a second man came out of the shadows and held a knife to his throat. Both men then demanded he handed over his mobile phone and wallet. But when their victim held his nerve and told them he had nothing, the two muggers then ran off.

Police are appealing for information about the attack, which happened at 9.15pm on Friday.

The first man is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, aged 25 to 30, with a local accent, goatee beard and moustache. He had long manicured sideburns and a plump face.

He was wearing a black zip up hoodie top, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. He was wearing a sovereign ring on his left index finger.

The second attacker was in his late teens, 6ft tall, wearing a dark woolly beanie type hat and dressed in a black hoodie. Information to Barnsley Police on 01226 736030.
