Lotto grant boosts gala

As a result the Bands and Blooms event at High Green will be held over two days, on September 7 and 8 at the Angram Bank Pavilion.

Last year more than 3,000 visited the one day gala, but the 2007 version should see double the fun.

The event begins on Friday evening at 5.30pm, running till 6.30pm on Saturday teatime.

Visitors will be treated to a host of shows and attractions including fairground and children's rides, performances from local brass and rock bands, sporting groups, flower and art displays and community workshops.
