Sheffielder and BAWE member, Sharron lists top beauty brands Chanel, Christian Dior, L’Oreal, Shiseido, La Prairie and Lancôme as clients.

Louise Oliver, BAWE’s president since 2018, commented: “BAWE is part of the world’s largest female entrepreneurs’ network, FCEM, a pioneering association uniting women business owners from all over the world, founded in 1945. Bringing a number of BAWE meetings to the North will help women here to forge networks with a global reach.

“Energy price rises and the 6 per cent hike in Corporation Tax means things are tough in business, particularly in the women-heavy hospitality, retail, leisure, fashion and beauty sectors across the North of England.

“As a Yorkshire woman who founded a business in Sheffield and is now based in Cheltenham with clients all over the country, I know it is sometimes more of a challenge for female entrepreneurs in the North. Times are changing but women still find it harder to gain funding for businesses compared to their male counterparts.”

“Our Master Your Mind, Motivate Your Business event aims to boost women’s confidence and aspirations and link them with other Northern entrepreneurs.

One of the UK’s leading financial planners whose expertise is often called on by the national media, Louise added: “Running a business can be lonely; you can’t always speak to your team about problems you’re facing. But you CAN talk to other women running businesses for support and advice.”

BAWE’s event is being staged to support a charity appeal by the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire’s second female Master Cutler in 398 years, South Yorkshire entrepreneur Dame Julie Kenny DBE DL.

Dame Julie’s Master Cutler’s Challenge aims to raise £200,000 for community-enriching projects at Rotherham stately home Wentworth Woodhouse, where she is chair of Trustees, says BAWE member and business marketing and communications consultant Alex Gardner, who is co-ordinating the Challenge.

Sharron Lowe, one of the UK’s top motivators and influencers, said: “I joined BAWE eight years ago and it gave me a network of like-minded women who are now my support system.

“Having recently moved back to Sheffield, I am delighted to support Dame Julie Kenny, a ground-breaking Sheffield businesswoman, and play a part in BAWE’s bid to reach women in the North,” she commented.

“Post-Covid, in particular, there is a greater need for connection and belonging. Many entrepreneurs got used to working from home, but isolation and loss of confidence can be the result. We need to re-evaluate the immense benefits of face-to-face networking, and of motivational coaching to take charge of our inner voice and make it our greatest cheerleader.

“Many people are back in the gym physically, but our minds need to be given a post-Covid workout too and re- coached back to full strength.
