Office blaze tackled

The blaze at Fulcrum Connections in Greasbrough Road, Thornhill, set off an automatic fire alarm.

But when crews arrived they had to put on breathing apparatus to go inside the two-storey building to locate the seat of the fire.

They also had to bring in an aerial ladder to help them fight the blaze, which started in an electrical plant room.

n Rotherham’s former Herringthorpe Sports Pavil-ion has been target for arsonists once again.

Piles of timber were set alight by the firebugs.

The building, on Boswell Street, was closed several months ago after repeated vandal attacks.
