Concern at way river has changed

HAVING read Mr J Wilson's article, I can understand his concern about the damage done to the River Don on the Five Weirs Walk. He did suggest he had seen several loads of stone tipped as for foundation work for a footbridge cross the river. Simon Ogden, in return, stated, with a definite 'no way' and gave his reasons.

Put two stones in any stream then you make a paddling pool. Mr Ogden suggested the stone tipped for foundation work would not alter the course of the river. If there were several loads of stone tipped this must alter the river bed.
