Free computers plan open to abuse

So Coun Harry Harpham wants all school kids to have a PC at home. Can I tell him that most already have one.

Also many kids already have this on their mobile phones, which they abuse. So we now propose to give them a greater opportunity to abuse the WWW.

The problem is, they and their parents need to learn how to use one safety and to set up a PC with the technology that allows only certain areas to be accessed. This needs to be done in school, not at home.

Many parents do not have the knowledge, hence the kids will be in danger.

Finally, who is to pay for this idea and how do we stop the dysfunctional families that may be tempted to sell the PC then claim to have had it stolen?

Great idea in theory, but not workable. Most of the kids will not use the PC for anything but chat rooms.
