The other day you published a letter from Neville Martin berating the ‘élite of the University of Sheffield’, Greta Thunberg and her co-conspirators and extolling the words of ‘the One’, presumably in an effort to calm things down.

Well, I for one know that the ones who speak about the effects of climate change (referred to by Neville as ‘the noisy followers of the Extinction Rebellion allegory’), do so on the basis of clear facts and extensive research into the subject matter. All the hard evidence points to urgent action being required with all the countries of the world being asked to help – some need to do a lot more than others.

I am hardly a young rebel, I am over 70 years old, but I know whose words I am more likely to believe and it is not the one referred to by yourself as ‘the One’ – unless it is revealed that One’s real name is David Attenborough, although that is unlikely given his comments on the subject. Goodnight, thank you, and may your God go with you Neville.
