Salvation Army only real help for homeless

JOHN Hayward writes of Ismail Rashid, who died at Tinsley as a failed asylum-seeker. In the same newspaper, a Sean Fisher is found dead in an alley off Fargate while police were checking on the homeless.

I can tell you from first hand experience in this city that those who sleep rough are Sheffielders or British people (we are not allowed to say English any more). The so-called city of sanctuary can’t find accommodation for people born here. He says Ismail was not allowed to work. Should he have joined the other failed asylum-seekers who are drawing benefits, sponging off our health services and everything else? Wake up, Mr Hayward, and the rest of you do-gooders.

By the way, why didn’t he take him to live at his house and feed him? Only the wonderful Salvation Army are touring this city in the early hours with hot food, blankets etc for the homeless. God bless them.

Mrs M Bagshaw, Fitzroy Road, Sheffield S2.
