Sophie is an inspiration to us all particularly to young people

A young and beautiful girl facing both hearing and sight loss is indeed a tragedy, but her positive strength and approach to her future are so admirable.

This could encourage others with disabilities to perhaps face challenges they may not have thought possible. It also makes you hope that some of the young people out there, with everything going for them, stop wasting their time, talents and lives and follow Sophie’s leading example.

I VISITED the Great Sheffield Art Show this year and saw the work exhibited by Sophie Elise Wilson. I did not realise until your story, August 2, that she had such sight and hearing prlblems. Her picture of sunflowers actually won first prize as voted by the public.

The combination of such talent and strength is an inspiration. Her pictures are all stunning. I hope she is successful in making enough money to see the world and I hope she manages to paint her way around it.
