True testament to animal care

On Friday, August 24 we had to make the heartbreaking decision to have our beloved dog put to rest.

Rather than wallow in grief and negativity, I have decided to remind everyone of the importance of the animal charity - the PDSA.

When treatment at the private vets became too expensive, we relied on the dedicated care of the Pet Aid clinic on Newhall Road.

This wonderful, modern, well equipped surgery is a testament to the unselfish generosity of the general public.

Only the retired and people on certain benefits can have their pets cared for by the PDSA, but anyone can donate for the common love we all share for our animal friends.

I would also like to thank The Star newspaper for publishing a story in its Relax supplement in April 1993. Sandie belonged to the litter featured, and gave us 14 wonderful years.
