Paraglider airlifted to hospital after Peak District fall

A paraglider was airlifted to the hospital after falling near the summit of Mam Tor in the Peak District.

Edale Mountain Rescue Team's Duty Team Leader said they were contacted by the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation Controller at around 3pm on Bank Holiday Monday after the paraglider took a significant fall resulting in chest, arm and ankle injuries.

East Midlands Ambulance Service also deployed an air ambulance who arrived on scene shortly after Edale MRT members.

The paraglider was then transported to hospital for further medical treatment.
