20 times Sheffield has starred on film and TV, including Doctor Who, The Full Monty and When Saturday Comes

Sheffield is set to star in at least two big new releases this year, but it won’t be the first time the city has appeared on TV and in films.

The Full Monty, Doctor Who, When Saturday Comes and Threads are just some of the famous shows and movies to have been shot at locations across Sheffield, including Park Hill, Meadowhall and Gleadless Valley.

The eagerly-awaited Full Monty TV reboot, featuring the original cast of the film, including Robert Carlyle, is set to hit screens this year on Disney+. Scenes for that were shot around the city, including on what is officially Sheffield’s steepest street. Sheffield also makes an appearance in The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, starring Jim Broadbent, which is due out at cinemas this April.

How many of these settings from films and TV shows shot in Sheffield, featuring stars from Sean Bean to Nicole Kidman, do you recognise?
