Acting opportunity in Sheffield as casting company involved in Top Boy look for new feature film stars

A BAFTA-winning casting company is looking for aspiring actors from Sheffield to apply for roles in an upcoming feature film.

Des Hamilton Casting are working in the South Yorkshire area with BAFTA-winning director Shane Meadows. The feature film will look at the experiences of people who have struggled gaining citizenship in the UK.

A flyer distributed by the company says: "The stories and characters will be shaped by the people we cast, so portrayals are honest and authentic.

"All roles in the film will be paid, and we are not looking for people with any acting experience. We are particularly keen to hear from people based in Sheffield or the surrounding areas, but this is not essential."

Des Hamilton have a number of successful credits under their belt, including the Oscar-winning feature Jojo Rabbit and the hit Netflix series Top Boy.

Meadows has also had a very successful career thus far, having been the man behind hit shows like This is England, Dead Man's Shoes and The Virtues.
