Italian restaurant and deli chain Carluccio’s, which has 73 branches across the UK including at Meadowhall’s Oasis Dining Quarter, is expected to be one of the first UK high street casualties of the crisis after announcing plans to call in administrators on Friday.
It is understood that last week Carluccio’s staff were told they would receive just 50 per cent of their wages due for the month, prompting the Unite union to threaten the chain with legal action.
