The course is being run by Quality Personal Development Limited in response to increased demand from students in the city who have attended the QPD’s Doncaster course over the last year.

The new course, which will be run out of Wincobank Village Hall, already has more than 10 learners studying, and has places available for new starters.

Since March 2019, over 20 students aged 16-18 on QPD’s forces preparation course in Doncaster have passed the army and navy’s selection process following support from tutors to develop and improve their fitness, confidence, fieldcraft, teamwork and performance on psychometric tests.

Company director Ian Fraser said: “We help young people to grow in confidence and develop their fitness so that they are prepared for a career in the forces. We do this with an outdoors and sports-based curriculum that engages people and gets them out of the classroom and into the real world, learning valuable skills as they go.

“We regularly dedicate whole days to events that break students out of their comfort zone and help them to grow in confidence. We host team mud runs on a regular basis and this is great at forcing young people to work together.”
