Speaking on the popular BBC One morning show earlier today, Louise Minchin was talking to co-host Dan Walker about food.
The Sheffield-born host asked his co-presenter which sauce she would have on a sausage sandwich, red or brown?

She then proceeded to tell a shocked Walker that her condiment of choice for the banger butty was – astonishingly – marmalade.
“That’s really messed with your head hasn’t it,” she laughed, as her co-presenter struggled to find the words to respond to Minchin’s eyebrow-raising revelation.
Walker then described Minchin as a ‘maverick’ who was ‘breaking culinary boundaries’ before revealing that his granddad favoured marmalade on a bacon butty.

“What’s wrong with just some bog standard ketchup,” he asked.
While many viewers shared Mr Walker’s misgivings, others agreed that they too favoured something sweet with meat, or said they would be prepared to try it.
Joshua Breeze said: “Definitely not for me. Brown sauce all day long for me with sausages.”

But Jonathan Broad said: “Off out to get some marmalade to try this, but only after the programme has finished of course.”
And Hubert Cumberdale said: “It’s delicious! She’s not wrong.”
