Hide AdA spokesman for the youth led charity said: “What you see and hear today are personal reflections and precious memories around the themes of home, identity, belonging, settling in Sheffield as well as sharing food, music and cultural heritage too.”
Running parallel to National Storytelling Week - from February 1 to February 8 - the event follows on from the Displaced Migrants: Living History project.
Through the lottery funded project, young people in the city have been trained in oral history skills and have learned how to capture and document their findings.
Many of the stories come from people whose voices often go unheard so the project allows these people’s lived experiences to be retained for posterity.
