"Age ranged from around seven years old to the elderly folks of 60 years of age from the community walking the streets near the Industry Rd mosque picking up litter and raising funds for the children.
"I would like to thank the Industry Road mosque and its members for kindly donating over £1,000. It was a great team effort."
He said both schools are planning a series of activities throughout the fasting month for the hospital in time for Eid - a religious festival to mark the end of Ramadan.
