Tariq Mahamood, the owner of Milan's Pizza takeaway in Heeley, said the shop, called Traditional Windows, has been around before they started their business 20 years ago.

However, he said, the owner of the shop, who is believed to be in his 70s, was rarely seen by other business owners in the area.

"I don't know what sort of thing the owner does, and we are not sure if he still makes windows or not.

"In truth, we only see him once a year and we don't have any idea what he does because we have our own home, do our own thing and we only come here to work.

"But we hope for the best health for him. We don't know if he has any family," he said.

On Sunday morning, emergency services were called to Chesterfield Road after a fire broke out in a row of shops.

One casualty was rushed to the hospital following the incident.

The fire service said the fire was thought to have started at a row of shops which also has residential flats above.

The blaze also involved a terraced building with Milan's pizza takeaway shop on the ground floor.

But Tariq said the shop was not affected in the fire and they planned to start operating in a few days’ time.
