A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Over recent weeks members of the public have reported damage caused in Hollinsend Park.

"A bench has been set on fire and a blue bin has also been set alight in the middle of the play area - badly damaging the playing surface.

"A large amount of graffiti has also been found on various items of park furniture.

"This is not only a criminal offence but it is destroying the park for younger children and costs us, the taxpayer, money to repair."

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
