On Thursday, May 6 there will be a number of elections – Sheffield councillors, the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner and a referendum on whether Sheffield Council governance system should change.
There will also be parish council by-elections in the Burncross, Chapeltown and High Green wards of Ecclesfield Parish Council.

Hide AdThere is still time to apply for a postal vote. Application forms were sent out with every polling card when they were issued in March but you can also apply here – the deadline is 5pm on Tuesday, April 20.
If you prefer to cast your vote on the day, expect a few procedures at polling stations. There will be limits on the number of people allowed in at any one time, social distancing measures will be in place and there will be regular cleaning of all touch points.
Voters and staff will need to wear a face covering, unless they are exempt on medical grounds. Most importantly – bring your own pen or pencil to mark the ballot paper.
The council says it has carefully assessed each polling station to ensure that they can accommodate the Covid-secure measures and has identified three polling stations that will need to relocate.
