Ofsted inspectors found the school to be successful in promoting pupils’ personal development.

Their report noted how very rapid progress made in personal, social and emotional development provided an excellent basis for pupils’ good progress and continuing outstanding personal development during key stages one and two.

Headteacher, Sally Kimber, was also praised for her outstanding leadership qualities having put in rigorous systems to check and monitor how well the school is performing.

Ms Kimber said: “We are absolutely thrilled with both results and attribute it to the sheer hard work of all involved. Ofsted inspectors commented how every child matters at Thorne Brook Primary, which completely reflects our ethos.”

Inspectors advised the school to focus on raising standards and achievement in writing as well as involving all subject leaders in analysing assessments of pupils’ learning.
