Pub goes from tap room to tapas

A DONCASTER pub is going from tap room to tapas!

The Courtyard pub, in the Marketplace, is being converted into a Spanish-style bar.

More than 300,000 has been invested in Que Pasa, which opens on Friday, and Donny drinkers will be able to enjoy Iberian nights featuring tapas, fresh cocktails and salsa dancing. Food will be served until 10pm. Que Pasa’s Paul Wright said: “We have 17 successful bars around the country, mainly in the south, so we felt the time was right to expand and find a number of northern locations.

After a great deal of research we opted for Doncaster because we think it’s a town where there’s a lot going on.

“We have a reputation for being passionate and flamboyant, whether we’re serving morning coffee or one of our classic cocktails.

This has allowed us to go from strength to strength and we’re confident that Doncaster will become one of our top venues.”

The bar will employ around 25 staff. To launch the venue, a carnival atmosphere is planned for the weekend with bongo players, fire jugglers and stilt walkers.

“This is a major investment for us and a test of how Que Pasa goes down in the north,” Mr Wright said.

“This means customer feedback will be essential as we’ll be using this as a launch pad for our continued expansion plan.”
