Pupils celebrating school's hatful of awards

PUPILS at a Rotherham school broke up for the summer holidays celebrating a fistful of top honours.

In the past 12 months, Herringthorpe Infant School has twice received top marks from Ofsted inspectors and has scooped five awards for its work on different projects.

The roll of honour included an Artsmark Gold Award for its commitment to the arts, national Healthy Schools Status, Rotherham's Advanced Healthy Schools Status, Rotherham Childcare Champions Award, and first prize in the ‘Roscars’ - a borough-wide digital movie competition.

The school also had two of its existing awards renewed - Investors In People and the Sport England Activemark.

On top of all that the school was ranked as “outstanding” by Ofsted inspectors during two visits, one to inspect the whole school and the other for an ‘Assessment for Learning’ inspection, looking at how pupils and teachers work together..

Headteacher Liz Crowcroft said: “I am immensely proud of our school community and their achievements.”
