Pupils learn all about law

A SHEFFIELD law firm opened its doors to a group of city schoolchildren as part of an ongoing drive to support education in the city.

Nine-year-olds from Green-lands Junior School in Darnall toured DLA Piper’s landmark city centre offices to find out more about what it takes to be a solicitor.

Workers there spoke to the children about the different jobs they do, some of the clients they work for and gave them an exclusive guided tour of the company’s St Paul’s Place offices.

DLA Piper has already worked with the school for two years as part of Business in the Community’s Right to Read scheme, which aims to raise literacy standards among seven to 11-year-olds.

Lisa Rachid, learning mentor at Greenlands, said: “It was a really inspirational day for all the pupils.”
