Remembrance day poem

On the corner you will see him standPoppy tray collection box firmly in hand

If you listen carefully you will hear him say

Would you like a poppy for Remembrance Day

His chest is lined with medals but his eyes are full of pain

They lost their lives for us so we would gain

Eleventh hour Eleventh Day Eleventh Month

That’s when time was called so wear your poppy and let’s stand tall

It does not matter what you pay just wear your poppy

For Remembrance Day
