Residents can reveal their flood fears to the Environment Agency

FLOOD victims in South Yorkshire can tell the Environment Agency how they suffered during the disaster at two public meetings.

Area flood risk manager Peter Holmes said: "This is an opportunity for us to explain our initial findings to residents about the flooding in their area, what we have been doing since the flooding and what the plans are for the future.

"We want people to tell us how the flooding affected different homes and streets because the more we know, the more we can do to find ways of protecting them."

The sessions are taking place on Tuesday at St Mary's Church, Catcliffe, and Wednesday at the Fitzwilliam Arms, Parkgate, Rotherham, between 3pm and 7pm.

Agency experts have already held talks with Doncaster residents to help deal with flooding in the future.

Around 90 people attended a drop-in session organised by the Environment Agency for residents affected by floods.
