Rotherham man jailed for abusing six-year-old girl
Russell Duffy, of Nicholson Avenue, Wath, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court today (Thursday, February 25) after earlier pleading guilty to six counts of indecent assault and four counts of indecency with a child. His victim, who was about six years old when the abuse began, came forward to police in December 2014.
Investigating officer detective constable Rachel Morton said: “The victim in this case suffered years of abuse at Duffy’s hands and endured decades of silence before gathering the courage to tell someone what happened to her.

“I hope today’s result offers her some consolation and closure after so many years.
“This case further highlights our commitment to bringing perpetrators of sexual abuse before the courts and seeking justice for victims and survivors of this horrific crime.”
