Ryan presents sport awards

Pupils at Firth Park Community Arts College were presented the trophies, sponsored by Blundells estate agents, at the school's sports presentation evening on July 20.

The Blundells sports man, sportswoman and team of the year awards were awarded to Ryan Darlow, Year 9 discus city champion Jodie Bills, and the Year 7 Athletics Team respectively.

Richard Standell, valuer at Blundells Firth Park office, who attended the ceremony, said: "It's great for us to get involved with the awards. We sponsor many sports teams throughout the region, including the school's football team, and are pleased to be supporting Firth Park and the PE department in particular."

Jonathan Bleeden, head of PE at the school, said: "Getting kids playing sport from a young age is really important.”
