Stagecoach Supertram was not been able to operate two of its services this afternoon, according to officials on Twitter.

They reported shortly after 1pm today (October 25) that a 'non-tram' road traffic collision on West Street, in Sheffield city centre, has seen the Blue and Yellow routes unable to operate between the Cathedral and Shalesmoor tram stops.

A further update more than 30 minutes later revealed that this was still affecting the services. The incident is not believed to be serious.

Stagecoach added that tram tickets are being accepted on First and Stagecoach buses while the services are affected.

Just short of an hour after the initial news, officials have said trams are running again, but commuters should expect delays.

A Tweet read: "The Blockage on West Street is now clear and trams are running through, however there are delays on Blue and Yellow routes until we restore the time table."
