United have been refused permission by Wolves, the defender's parent club, to play Ebanks-Landell in Sunday's game at Bramall Lane.

But Daniel Lafferty and Harry Chapman, also on loan in South Yorkshire from Burnley and Middlesbrough respectively, are available - as is Louis Reed, after the FA granted he and Chapman permission to play before joining up with the England U20 squad to fly to Korea on Monday.

"We have a couple of bits and pieces to contend with so might be a couple of changes to the team," Blades boss Chris Wilder admitted.

"We have to make sensible decisions this weekend but doesn't take anything away from game, we want to win and progress.

"We have a tight group of players. I didn't want numbers of last year but one look at our bench shows it's quite youthful, which is sometimes the drawback of tightening the squad up. We're not going to take any risks, but I imagine there'll be a couple of changes."

Leon Clarke and Matt Done, with ankle and facial injuries respectively, are definitely out.
