Chris Wilder's side enter tomorrow's match against Middlesbrough four points behind the visitors from Teesside, who occupy the fourth and final play-off berth.

With fellow top six hopefuls Millwall also set to visit Bramall Lane this weekend, Wilder confirmed the disappointment of Saturday's defeat at Barnsley had not been compounded by new fitness issues.

"We're okay," he said. " Which is good because we need a couple of results. We're chasing and so, if results don't go for us, it (reaching the play-offs) will be difficult."

Richard Stearman, who missed the trip to Oakwell with a hamstring complaint, is set to sit out the meeting with Middlesbrough but could return to action when United contest face their rivals from London in five days time.

"Stears has had a scan and it's not as serious as first feared," Wilder added. "Knowing him, he'll want to play against Millwall."
