Centre back Hector and attacking midfielder Onomah joined the Owls on season long-loan deals from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively today.

Hector, who cost the Blues around £4m in the summer of 2015 but has failed to make a senior appearance for the Premier League giants, gives Wednesday some much-needed defensive cover. The 26-year-old, who kicked off his career at Reading, spent last season on loan at Hull City, making 38 appearances.

As for Onomah, he has played for England at all levels up to Under-21. He has made 32 appearances for Spurs but was farmed out on loan to Aston Villa for the majority of the 2017-18 campaign. Onomah clocked up 37 outings, scoring four goals as Villa reached the Championship Play-Off Final.

Speaking within a few hours of the deals being confirmed: Bannan told The Star: "It is only going to be good for us moving forward. It keeps everyone on their toes and adds to competition.
