Showdown time

Top-class kick-boxing comes to Sheffield on August 31, with 10 fights on the Showdown bill at the Octagon Centre.

Up-and-coming Sheffield fighters are on the bill include Shane Beard and Alex Mackenzie, both challenging for British Freestyle Karate and Kickboxing Organisation (BFKKO) British titles.

Local clubs involved include Black Dragons, Sheffield Academy of Martial Arts, SDF Malin Bridge and Marsdens All Styles. Organisers claim these are the biggest belts ever challenged for by Sheffield fighters in this K1 style of kickboxing.
