South Yorkshire Police said the A618 Pleasley Road, between Whiston and Aughton, is likely to be closed until around 2pm after a two-vehicle collision close to the entrance to Ulley Country Park.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were all deployed to the crash scene and an air ambulance landed.

Details of the nature of the injuries sustained by those involved in the crash have not yet been released.
