'˜Spiderman' in armed robbery at South Yorkshire store

An appeal has been launched after a man wearing a Spiderman mask robbed a South Yorkshire shop at knifepoint.

The man, wearing the superhero face covering, reportedly entered a shop on Violet Avenue in the Edlington area of Doncaster carrying a knife, at about 8.25am on Sunday, January 31.

The man demanded money from staff before running from the shop with ‘a quantity of cash.’

No one was injured, but the shop worker was left shaken by the incident.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, ofscrawny/slim build, with a local accent. He was reportedly wearing a red and blue Spiderman balaclava, blue jeans with a white and blue jumper.

Officers are asking for anyone who was in the area at that time and either witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious to contact police.
