Esporta Sheffield have recruited ex-Sheffield United favourite David Holdsworth to open an innovative football academy for budding under-11 footballers.

The academy will run for a week in August. Parents can call 0114 250 5050 for information and to register children.

Up to 30 boys and girls will learn practical skills and theory under the direct supervision of a pro with many years' experience in the Premier League, and other English divisions.

Alistair Kennedy, general manager of Esporta Sheffield, said: "David has many years in the game and his wealth of knowledge will provide the kids with a great week of fun and education and get them off the sofa and into some fantastic exercise."
