Surgery for accident man

A DONCASTER man has undergone surgery after ploughing into a tree as he negotiated a bend on the B6105 Woodhead Road, Glossop.

The 44-year-old was travelling from the A628 Woodhead Pass towards Glossop when he came off his silver Aprilia moped.

He was initially taken to Tameside Hospital with multiple injuries, including a broken leg and collarbone, before being transferred to an intensive care unit in Manchester, where his condition was described as stable.

Witnesses to the incident, at 1.50pm on Monday, should call police on 01773 572 929.
