The Lord's prayer

All this talk about Our Lords Prayer, and should we/shouldn't we, reminded me when the same things were discussed.

We pray Lord that your will be done and yet it seems to me we have such mixed- up feelings of what your will should be.

God never wills a child born blind or dumb or sick or lame. Accidents, war and famine are blasphemous to his name. His name is love and such a love as we can’t understand.

We have his blessed assurance. We’re held tight in his hand. Nothing that ever happens – is outside his love and care. In our Valley of the Shadows if we look, we’ll find him there.

When everyone is housed and fed, when disease is overcome – when love has entered every heart then will his will be done.
